Dr. WILLIAM REA



Dr. William Rea, whom I will be seeing every day next week :), is "a thoracic, cardiovascular and general surgeon with a strong passion for the environmental aspects of health and disease.


"Founder of the Environmenta Health Center - Dallas in 1974... Dr. Rea has published more than 150 peer-reviewed research papers related to the topics of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery and environmental medicine.


"He graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, and Ohio State College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He completed a rotating internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He held residencies in general surgery and cardiovascular surgery with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School syustem.

He was assistant professor of cardiovascular surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, and adjunct professor of environmental sciences and mathematics at the University of Texas, and he acted as clinical associate professor of thoracic surgery at the Univeristy of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.

He held the First World Professorial Chair of Environmental Medicine at the University of Surrey, Guildford, England, from 1988 to 1998."
